Renewal Retinol should be used nightly to help smooth skin texture, improve skin tone and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Size: 1.0 Fl Oz. 29.6 mL
Gently apply 1 pump to the desired areas on the face each evening. Avoid getting in eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
Begin using two to three evenings per week, increase gradually until tolerated nightly.
We recommend you consult with your health care provider on which strength retinol is best for your skin type. As a general rule, those that have previously included a retinol in their regimen can safely use the 0.5 retinol. Those who are new to retinol should begin using the 0.25 retinol until tolerated nightly then if desired, can switch to the 0.5 retinol.
We suggest you begin using two to three evenings per week and increase gradually until tolerated nightly.
Yes, it is formulated to be used on all skin types (oily, combination, dry). If you have specific skin concerns, please consult with your health care provider.

It depends on use. If using 1 pump every evening, the bottle will last approximately 4.5 months.
Renewal Retinols has gone through Comedogenicity testing to determine if the product can clog pores, which it passed – proving it does NOT clog pores.
Step 1: With the cap on the bottle, begin by turning it upside down and patting firmly with the palm of your hand. This moves the product up to the top of the bottle, near the pump.
Step 2: Then, remove the cap and prime the pump by depressing it several times (up to 10 pumps) for the product to begin dispensing.
Step 3: If the product does not prime, please repeat both steps. Due to the airless nature of our pumps this may take several attempts.
We use state of the art airless packaging, which does not contain dip tubes, but rather a diaphragm that rises to evacuate the product. When you depress the pump, it creates a vacuum effect, drawing the product upwards and will allow for almost all of the product to be dispensed without left over. The double wall packaging we use can seem as though there is less product appropriate to the size of the bottle; however, it not only provides extra protection, but our products are over filled to ensure that the label claim volume is what is actually dispensed.

I’ve been using renewal .5 for almost 2 years with no issues. This last bottle I received I noticed the serum was white and I experienced sensitivity. I even had some break outs. Was formula changed? Giving it 4 stars since my experience has changed with the product from my most recent purchase.
Hi Lissette, Thank you for reaching out to let us know about your experience. We have not changed the Retinol .5 formula, and sometimes the color may look different due to the raw materials. Unfortunately, sometimes sensitivity can occur even after using the same product for a while. Is anything else different in your routine? Whether it's a new cleanser or you had a procedure, any change (even if it seems minor) could have caused differences in your skin. We suggest you stop using your Retinol .5 for a week and gradually reintroduce it to your skin to see if that helps. If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service team at cs@alastin.com. Sincerely, The ALASTIN Skincare Team
Female / Latin/ NC35/ 45 years old/ rough, dry skin/ acne scars/ sun spots. After turning 44, moisturizers alone don't seem to ********* my skin. Oils work OK, but I still felt that I needed some sort of exfoliation in my routine. I didn't want to see a dermatologist because of the pandemic, so I purchased this online instead. This product leaves my skin very soft without the redness and stinging from Retin-A and Tazorac. It is very gentle and feels more like a moisturizer than a retinoid. I pair this with a simple, well-known over-the-counter cleanser and matching moisturizer and the results are outstanding. I now have buttery soft, plump and moisturized skin. The results are similar to what I used to get with lactic acid minus the stinging. And if you stop using it, your skin will revert to its former state within two or three days. I don' t believe this is gonna do anything for my acne scars and sun spots though. I've been using the 0.5 concentration daily for one month and can tell that this is as far as this product will take me. I am a very experienced retinoid user and have tried most **** and topical acne prescriptions available in the market since the age of 13. What I can say is that if you are generally satisfied with your skin and need to take it a notch up, you will be very happy with this product. Otherwise, you will need something stronger. I will continue to use this product until the pandemic is over, at which point I will see a dermatologist to discuss laser options. After that, I hope to continue to use this for maintenance, and will probably buy a cleanser and moisturizer from this line as well.
I have experienced sensitivities to most all retinols. I have been using this one for 2 weeks, and have had no peeling or irritation. Alastin has the most gentle formulas. I am very happy with this purchase.
