Overview

A common nonsurgical skin tightening treatment called ultrasound skin tightening works by using targeted energy to heat deeper layers of skin, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin, resulting in a gradual improvement in skin tone and skin texture.

The main benefits of ultrasound skin tightening:

  • Non-invasively tightens mild to moderately loose skin on the face, neck, or body with very little downtime.
  • Supports the renewal of collagen fibers in the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

How Ultrasound Skin Tightening Works

Ultrasound energy bypasses the uppermost skin layers to heat the deeper tissue of the dermis, which induces collagen production to firm and tone the treatment area. One ultrasound treatment for skin tightening is usually sufficient for mild to moderate skin laxity. However, some people need three or more sessions to achieve the desired goal.

What To Expect

Compared to rather invasive surgical procedures, treatments using ultrasound technology require minimal downtime. The downtime is typically shorter with non-invasive procedures, and while results can be seen with one procedure, multiple sessions are usually needed for optimal results.

Though this type of nonsurgical procedure is gentler in nature, using products to prep the skin pre-treatment and to help the skin recover post-treatment is key to healing any redness or unevenness in tone. To prep the treatment area, we recommend applying a specialized skin care product for the 2 weeks leading up to the procedure and for the 2 weeks following the procedure.

Designed to support the regeneration of healthy elastin and collagen, calm skin redness, and preserve optimal results of the treatment, our Regenerating Skin Nectar with TriHex Technology® is formulated using potent antioxidants, anti-inflammatories and peptides to protect the skin barrier and reduce the appearance of redness as the skin heals after ultrasound, radiofrequency, or IPL skin rejuvenation.

To further seal in moisture, apply an intensive hydration product to the skin, such as our Ultra Nourishing Moisturizer with TriHex Technology®. After being exposed to an ultrasound skin tightening treatment device, your skin needs support when producing new, healthy elastin and collagen. That’s where Restorative Skin Complex with TriHex Technology® comes in. Pairing our Ultra Nourishing Moisturizer with our Restorative Skin Complex can help even your skin tone post-procedure and improve skin elasticity.
