Make Spring Travel A Breeze
Beauty Tips & Skincare Tricks For Spring Vacation
Whether you plan to take the kids on a fun-filled spring break, you’re headed to Mexico with your girlfriends, or planning a romantic trip with your partner, here’s to hoping that you get a much-deserved spring vacation on the calendar this season.
With spring travel often comes lighter clothes, sunshine (fingers crossed!), and digging out your travel-friendly accessories. If you find that you’ve been hibernating and need some tips for ensuring your spring travel is not only refreshing and fun but keeps you on track with your beauty regimen then keep reading.
These are our tips for making spring travel a breeze!
Stock Up On Multi-Use Beauty Products
You don’t necessarily need to bring your whole beauty arsenal with you everywhere you go. And especially if you’ll be on the go a lot or will be short on space, you want to make the most with what you’ve got.
Try to focus on only packing beauty products that can handle more than one job. A good example is a shampoo and conditioner in one or sunscreen with tinted moisturizer.
The HydraTint Pro Mineral Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SFP 36 is a great product that features the benefits of being a UVA and UVB sunscreen, while also providing a glowing tint that many favor over their own foundation! In just one step, you get the benefits of all-day protection (though you must re-apply as with all sunscreens!) as well as a beautiful glow that works well for most skin tones.
And even healthcare providers agree…
“Wow ALASTIN! You hit the nail on the head with your new HydraTint Pro Mineral SPF 36! It's a moisturizer, foundation, and broad-spectrum sun protector all in one.. and the best part .....it glows! The mineral shimmer is absolutely gorgeous. You just cut my morning regimen in half. Thank you ALASTIN!” - Dr. Shari Topper
Other travel-friendly multi-use products to consider for your spring travel include:
- Dry shampoo: most can help you save time by skipping a hair wash, but can also give you a nice boost of volume for second, or even third-day hair.
- Face wipes: keep these with you especially during air travel to help blot oil, ensure you look fresh upon landing, but can also function as a makeup remover for the duration of your trip.
- Lip tint: once you find your favorite shade, a tint can work both on your lips and cheeks to give you a pop of color without looking overdone and fresh.
Packing Tips For Spring Vacation
Especially if you haven’t traveled in a while, you may not feel confident that you understand exactly what you can and can’t bring with you during air travel. Here is a quick shortcut to the FAQs on the TSA website to answer most of your questions.
One important number you should know is the amount of liquid that is permitted during air travel...
3.4 ounces, or 100 milliliters, is the permissible amount of liquid or gel that can be taken on board and must be placed inside one clear, quart-size, plastic zip-top bag.
It’s also good to know that you can also pack other beauty essentials like disposable razors, cuticle cutters, eyelash curlers, nail clippers, tweezers, and small toiletry scissors,
Having the right bag or container to travel with you is an important piece of the puzzle. One helpful tip is to use containers from other items around the house for travel; like your contact-lens case could be used to hold small amounts of beauty products or even pills that you’ll need on your trip.
If you’re a smart shopper (and you probably are, but you’re reading our blog!), you also know that you can also find useful bags for travel while shopping for some of your favorite beauty products as a free gift with purchase.
The ALASTIN Skincare TriHex Preview Regimen for example, not only features four best-selling skincare products that come in TSA-approved sizes and are each rated 5-stars by real customers, but also includes a travel-friendly bag that is both chic and durable.
The TriHex Preview Regimen features the Restorative Skin Complex with TriHex Technology® as the daily anti-aging skincare that should be a staple in everyone’s daily regimen and worthy of making the trip with you anywhere you go, as well as a Gentle Cleanser, Ultra Nourishing Moisturizer with TriHex Technology®, and the aforementioned HydraTint Pro Mineral Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 36. This travel-friendly daily regimen kit will help address volume loss, thinning skin, hydration, and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Need more reasons to love this kit?
- Kit contains 3-4 weeks skincare regimen
- All products are travel-friendly and TSA-approved sizes.
- Skincare is formulated for all skin types.
- All products are paraben free, cruelty free, and gluten free.
You may not realize it but your destination may also affect your skin in more subtle ways by a simple change in air, pollution, and environment. For this reason, it is recommended to take hydration very seriously when you travel. Save room in your carry-on for an empty reusable water bottle that you can fill up at the airport and drink up. Keeping your skin and insides hydrated is important every day, but when you travel it is often overlooked even more than in your daily life because you’re outside of your normal element so whatever routines you’ve established for yourself at home, likely go out the window once you’ve kicked off your shoes and dug your toes into the sand.
If you have space and do plan to check a bag, we highly recommend bringing your body skincare with you during your trip as well. The TransFORM Body Treatment with TriHex Technology® is great when paired with skin procedures, but also is proven to be effective as daily body skincare to help address skin texture and crepiness. And if you find that your bag is getting really tight, then try slipping the 6 Fl. Oz. container into the water bottle you just agreed to pack, since it’s empty anyway!
And on that note, just for good measure, refresh yourself on some of Marie Kondo’s folding methods to help you save space in your luggage.
